Updated
First identify the symptom: the Wraps menu is missing, a PNG is missing from the list, or the PNG loads but looks wrong. These require different checks. Follow the matching path instead of repeatedly uploading the same file.
| Symptom | Check first | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Wraps menu absent | Vehicle feature availability and Tesla app version | Check official instructions and available updates |
| PNG not listed | Actual format, size, name and transfer location | Validate one file and transfer it again |
| Wrong body panels | Model, year and trim | Use the matching official template |
If the menu is missing, check the vehicle first
A missing vehicle feature cannot be fixed by renaming a PNG. Confirm that you are looking in Toybox → Paint Shop and that your vehicle offers custom wraps. For phone uploads, Tesla specifies app 4.59.0 or later and the Creations → Wrap → Upload path. Vehicle software, region and access can affect what you see. Check the car’s available updates and manual rather than assuming one universal software version.
If a PNG is missing, validate one simple file
Confirm that it is an actual PNG, no larger than 1 MB, with supported dimensions and a plain filename within 30 characters. Do not test with a car screenshot. Download an official example for the exact vehicle and try it as a comparison. If the example works while your design does not, inspect the exported file. This narrows the issue without changing all the artwork.
For USB, check the folder and drive format
Put the PNG directly in a Wraps folder at the drive root, not inside Downloads or an extra nested folder. Tesla lists exFAT, FAT32, MS-DOS FAT, ext3 and ext4 as supported; NTFS is excluded. Check that the drive has no map or firmware update files and that you have not exceeded ten wraps from that source. Back up existing files before reformatting a drive.
If the wrap loads but looks wrong, compare layouts
A wrap can be detected even when its artwork uses a different model’s UV layout. Compare the exact model and trim, then inspect the hood, doors and bumpers in 3D. Avoid cropping a whole texture to fix one panel: that can shift every other panel. Rebuild it on the right template, export again and test on the vehicle. The browser preview does not replace that final check.

Sources and compatibility
Requirements checked against Tesla’s published instructions on the date above. Your vehicle’s available features and software remain the final compatibility check.
